Hi DUI,
I have been diving since 1980 and a scuba instructor since 1995. When I was becoming a dive master in 1995 I recognized the necessity for a dive professional to have a drysuit to be successful in New England waters. I tried out various drysuit models from multiple manufacturers and decided that DUI suits were what best fit my needs.
My first suit was a stock TLS series suit that I dove exclusively for three years. I enjoyed the flexibility of the material and the ability to dive it in the near 70-degree local waters with just a pair of light sweats on but could ramp up my undergarment thickness to handle the low 30-degree temps of Narragansett Bay in February. I logged close to 2000 dives in that suit with the original seals and the only repair being a zipper replacement, from all the zipping in and out of that suit. I still use the suit in the shops rental stock for drysuit training classes.
In 2003 I upgraded to a Signature Series TLS350 with ZipSeals and RockBoots. I cannot accurately express how satisfied and impressed I am with this suit. Teaching large college classes in the fall in Rhode Island can have me in the water for 4 to 6 hours a day and the comfort I get from my DUI is unparallel.
Thanks. I love my DUI!
