Hi DUI,
I took up scuba diving in 2005 following a trip to Mexico, Riviera Maya. My wife asked me to join her into taking scuba diving lessons so that on our next trips down in the south we could go diving. Well, she and I got so hooked up that we could not settle with diving in warm water only .... we had to dive as often as possible. We geared ourselves and started diving everywhere with our wetsuits. It did not take long for both of us to realize that there is a more comfortable way to dive; a drysuit.
Being relatively new to the sport and with a limited budget we bought ourselves drysuits (other than DUI). Over the years I patched it several times (20-25 patches), changed the wrist seals and changed the valves. Finally, after four years of diving with it, the zipper gave up on me and the last 8 dives I did with it were pretty wet. In September 2009, in the cold water of Ontario Lake (42F), with my left arm slowly filling up with water, diving on beautiful wrecks, I had plenty of time to convince myself that it was time for me to change my suit. I was tired of diving wet in a drysuit.
Upon returning home, we stopped at Dive Tech Training Center in Mallorytown, ON. After trying on several different suits, Dan Humble, the owner of the shop, suggested that I consider purchasing a DUI drysuit. I already knew about the reputation of comfort and ruggedness of the DUI suits. Dan told me how much he appreciated his own CF200X drysuit. I knew Dan also dove for years with another drysuit before switching to the DUI. Knowing him, I was convinced that if he liked his DUI drysuit so much, I could not go wrong. Minutes after, Dan was taking all my measurements and sent the form to San Diego. I was soon to be the proud owner of a CF200X Signature Series DUI drysuit.
Since I received my CF200X Signature Series drysuit in October 2009, I dove the great lakes, did some ice diving and also dove in the Golfe of St-Lawrence, in Les Escoumins, QC in water as cold as 30F. Never did my DUI leak and I was never cold. I think that of all the things I purchased in my life, this drysuit is by far the best buy I have ever made. The comfort, the ease of putting it on and taking it off, the quality of the crushed neoprene and, above all, the absolute freedom of movement it gives me when I dive, are all attributes that I will never give up again. I am sold to DUI and my next drysuit will again be a DUI. I also made a promise to my wife she would get her own DUI CF200 Signature Series.
Attached is a photograph of me just before a dive in Les Escoumins where the salt water temperature was 30F on the wreck at -125 feet. Again, did not feel the cold and came out happy and warm as a baby. I also have a photograph of a skiing challenge where we acted as Rescue Divers to help skiers get out of the pool when they could not float completely across it.
Thank you DUI!

P.S. : My wife and I are moving to France in October and I am sure that our new diving buddies will envy me when we go diving in the cold water of Annecy Lake or in Scapa Flow next year.
