WHY THE FLX EXTREME? WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

Many people have asked us why the FLX EXTREME? Why would I want that suit over the TLS350 or any other DUI for that matter? So much of it comes down to how you feel in the drysuit. Many of the differences can be very subtle especially if you are not spending 20 hours in your drysuit at a time like many exploration divers! Here’s a simple analogy:

The drysuits are very similar as they all keep you dry. What you need to decide is what the most important features to you are. It’s kind of like a pair of pants - you can wear jeans, you can wear wool dress slacks, you can wear khakis, you can wear sweat pants or you can wear Enduro motorcycle pants. They all do basically the same thing in keeping your legs covered yet they all feel very different. One type will be warmer, one type will be more durable and another will be more likely to get you the job you want on a job interview! Bottom line - you need to decide what you feel best when wearing.

Divers also ask about durability. All DUI drysuits are durable with some just a tad more.

• The most durable DUI is a CF200. On a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being the most durable), a CF200 is a 10.
• The CLX450 with the Cordura-blend top is a 9 - on the top only as that is where the Cordura is used.
• The FLX50/50 with the CF200 bottom is a 9.5 - on the bottom only as that is where the CF200 material is used.
• The TLS350 is an 8 to 8.5.

The FLX EXTREME is probably somewhere 8.5 and 9. So much depends on the user, how they wear their gear, and more.
