This will be a very unique design featuring:
- Lycra jumpsuit with torso heating
Your primary insulation easily slides over the top of your electric divewear jumpsuit. This allows the diver the flexibility to use the jumpsuit in multiple ways. For example, you can combine the electric divewear with Xm450 when diving in frigid waters for longer duration dives or you can use it to reduce the bulk in less intense waters. You decide what works best for you!
- Lycra jumpsuit will act as host garment
In addition to the torso heating, connectors are already in the jumpsuit if you want to add electrically heated gloves and socks. This is a completely new and unique design.
- 6V for safety
Most all other systems are 12V. Safety standards dictate that when more than 7V are used, ground fault detection is to be included. If GFI is not there, serious injuries can be incurred.
- Made with Gerbing’s patented Microwire™ Technology
Gerbing’s is the leading manufacturer in electrically heated garments for the motorcycle industry. They have teamed up with DUI, the leader in diving thermal protection, to bring this technology to divers. Microwire Technology brings faster and more even heating to the body.
- Completely unique battery design and controller is under development
Working with diver feedback, DUI is designing a completely new battery and controller for this system.

- Modular Design
The electric divewear jumpsuit will come complete with the battery. Gloves and socks will be able to be added at that time or later depending on the diver’s needs.
DUI currently has test units in the field and is working with divers to collect feedback and finalize the design. Because DUI's Electric DiveWear is a completely new and unique design, the battery must be re-engineered to accommodate this. Because of the diver feedback and engineering required, the release date is anticipated to be the Fall of 2012.
