Set up went very quickly today, with plenty of help from the crews of Forest City SCUBA, Wazee Sports, and Northland Equipment. There were plenty of bugs, and a visit with a snake (right John). Lots of calls to make today for the next Demo Day event. We did get a spot of rain, but it wasn’t until after dinner, and the usual trip to Super Walmart. Not knowing what to expect for attendance, or catering numbers for that matter, I had placed an order with the Meat Dept. at the shiny new Black River Falls Super Walmart. After 2 attempts, I finally got through to a Manager, since the Meat Dept. could only come up with the words “um” and “uh” before repeatedly placing me on hold. So order placed for BBQ “meat units” well in advance…all good right? Yeah…not really. Nothing was held for me, no one knew anything about it from the dept. to the Assistant Manager whom I was told to ask for upon arrival. In any event, they didn’t have enough to fill our needs, nor the inventory to get us through the weekend. So basically, I’m pretty peeved. After dinner, it was off to bed at just after 9:30PM after finding a few dessert cakes for tomorrow night.
