Master
instructor Peter Buzzacott makes up to 200 dives per year in Western
Australia, where his diver training business is paying his way through
a PhD researching scuba diving injuries at the University of Western
Australia, Faculty of Medicine. In March 2006 he bought his first
DUI drysuit, a TLS350.
"The waters around here range from 6 degrees celsius (42 F) winter, in quarries
in the nearby hills," says Peter, "up to 23 degrees celsius (74 F)
in the sea at the height of summer. Even that get's cool when you're making four
dives per day and they're an hour-long each, so I wanted a suit that I could
adapt. The TLS350 drysuit is perfect because I can add another layer as I cool
down during the day, plus it looks really smart, and that's important when you're
teaching. I want my customers to see me dressed like a pro, not wearing something
less-than-ideal and shivering. Another really useful feature of the TLS350 is
that I can zip it up myself and make sure the zip is fully closed, instead of
relying on a buddy who might not have zipped-up a drysuit before. It's now July
and I've just made my 50th dive in this suit. It'll probably last a decade but
I already know, I'll be sticking with DUI"
Cheers,
Peter Buzzacott
