Brian under the ice in Antarctica in his DUI TLS350 drysuit.

Brian diving in Antartica in his DUI drysuit

Hi DUI,

I have had my DUI TLS350 for about 3 1/2 years and have used it for diving in Antarctica for the last 3 years. Before that I dove a vulcanized rubber drysuit.

I like the lightness of the TLS350 drysuit, and the extra freedom in movement it gives, yet it is tough enough to stand up to the abrasion. Believe me a flooded drysuit is not what you want to have happen beneath 3m of ice in the coldest water in the world! The water we dive in is about -2 C.  My TLS350 drysuit is easy to put on, even with the undergarments we wear in Antarctica, and does not get damaged when it freezes overnight (< -40 C). The surface of the drysuit is smooth enough that as soon as you get out of the water, and the water freezes on the outside of the drysuit, you can brush it off. We never wash our equipment in fresh water when in the field since fresh water is so scarce. If I needed to purchase another drysuit today it would be a DUI TLS350 drysuit.
