Dear DUI,
My name is Kim Malkoski and I am the lucky recipient of the Frank Scalli Scholarship for 2008 by the Boston Sea Rovers.
About the Frank Scalli Scholarship: It is provided to a qualifying High School Senior or College Freshman. The scholar will intern with members of the Boston Sea Rovers and associates located throughout the United States to experience a wide variety of jobs and career choices. Based in part on the personal interests of the scholar, the Internship will provide advanced dive training courses and opportunities to dive and train with a variety of dive professionals in a broad cross section of diving environments. Opportunities will include hands-on work with professional under water photographers and filmmakers, educational specialists, marine engineers and scientists, equipment manufacturer’s representatives, and dive shop owners.
The scholar is chosen based on being a diver from the New England area, that they are 18 years old by the start of the internship, and the scholar's grades. They must fill out an application and essay on why the candidate wants to pursue a career in the underwater world and how this scholarship can help them achieve that goal.
The pictures are of me (Kim Malkoski, 2008 intern), my dad Vincent Malkoski, and Patrick Scalli. They are taken at DUI DOG Rally & Demo Tour event at Stage Fort Park, Gloucester, Massachusetts in May, 2008. As DUI donates a DUI drysuit system for the lucky recipient every year, we were testing out the brand new suit and learning how to dive in the suit. I like the suit, because it is extremely comfortable and easy to move in, while staying dry and warm.
Thank you DUI!
Kim Malkoski
