I went to Kaua this past June and had a BLAST! Two 'Intro to SCUBA' dives and I was convinced to come home and get Open Water Certified. Much to my dismay, the first all day pool session resulted in learning I had a severe allergy to neoprene. Yes neopene as in wetsuit. I finished the pool sessions, but was not interested in completing the 60 degree shore dives in a rash guard and trunks.
Enter my new friends at DUI. Recognizing that I am and odd shape, yes, BIG is a shape, they scoured the DOG truck to find me a TLS350 demo that would accommodate my needs. I completed my open water, did a plant tour with Mike Mino, and decided to purchase a TLS350 Signature Series of my own, custom design including the available LATEX seals. It's called 'the Rob' and I love this suit!
Everyone tells me my neoprene allergy is a bit of a blessing, but I don’t really know any difference. Other than my limited tropical experience...dry is the way to go!
Thanks DUI for all your support and I’ll see you in the water!
