I am a San Diego native who spends a lot of time traveling and teaching diving.
I began my diving career as a scientific diver for Moss Landing Marine Labs
in the Monterey Bay and Big Sur area. I wore a 2 piece 7mm farmer john,
because I simply didn't know any better. I remember doing multiple dives one day and during my surface interval
before the night dive, my core temp was so low that I could barely bring myself to do that
final dive of the day. Luckily, I sucked it up and did the dive because we captured much needed data.
However, I know I missed out on cool stuff because I was so focused on
ending it and getting warm!!!
Now I take my DUI TLS350 drysuit everywhere! I'm in Baja California now and still using my drysuit in these warm waters because I love that I can feel as fresh and excited for dive 3 as I did for dive 1.
I also really love my suit because I got to pick every detail about it. I wanted a splash of pink so that everyone would know it was me... but wanted it to be classic black other than that.
I got large crushed CF200 neoprene kneepads so I wouldn't have to worry about spending lots of time on the bottom with students.
Also, I couldn't decide if I wanted velcro pockets or zippered... so I got one of each and put the zippered one on the left since I'm left handed.
I call it my MeghannSuit and I know there's not another like it.
I love my DUI!
