Whether it's the way your DUI makes you feel warm and protected, its dependability and promise to always be there when you need it, or the pride you feel when you are out together. DUI OWNERS LOVE THEIR SUITS! Here is just one of thousands of DUI love stories.
"I would NEVER be able to go to Antarctica without my DUI
"
We typically are very conscientious about using the names of other manufacturers; however, these are Connie's words and not ours. It is a good example of how drysuit brands differ and how important it is to do your research. Thank you for coming to our DOG Rally & Demo Tour, Connie! We love you, too!
Here is my DUI Love story…
First of all, I am a 57 year old woman who has been diving for 5 years. I took to diving like a fish and became an instructor in 2009. I have a few physical problems that make me push my limits when diving! I have arthritis in my neck with limited mobility. I also had a serious shoulder injury that had me in a lot of pain for a year and then out of commission for six months after I had surgery.
But in spite of that I am a very active cold water diver - spending a lot of time in Monterey and Carmel waters diving and teaching.
I dove wet for 3 years and then bought a Bare Drysuit thinking it would change my life. There is only one word to describe the experience with the Bare suit: HORRIBLE. First of all, the suit was very heavy. Second, it was extremely hard to get on. It had a neoprene neck seal and I thought it was going to strangle me. Then to top it off, I couldn't get it off. Not to be too dramatic, but the last time I wore the thing I asked my husband to take my dive knife and cut it off me!
So I gave up and went back to my wetsuit.
Then I went to Lake Tahoe to the DOG Days, I was so nervous but managed to try out a suit. I couldn't believe it. Easy on, easy off, light weight and so easy to dive.
I ended up ordering a Special Production TLS350 from Dolphin Scuba in Sacramento. First time putting the suit on I got in it by myself. Just couldn't zip it all the way because of my shoulder. Diving in it is a dream. I am warm, comfortable, and mobile.
With the Bare, I couldn't put my own fins on. With the DUI, I pop them on no problem.
With the Bare, I ended up upside down every time out. With the DUI - never.
With the Bare, I was in agony taking it off. With the DUI - again, I just remove it myself - no problem, no pain
Thanks so much for the amazing design on the suit and thanks for letting me share my story.
My husband and I are going to dive in Antarctica next year. I would NEVER be able to make this trip without DUI
