I
know there was some interest from a few of you in my diving Saturday
so here it is. I finally got a drysuit. Bought a DUI TLS350SP through
Denny Hemphill of C&D Diving in Springhill TN... with all the bells
and whistles. Steve Parker had always told me if I ever dove dry I'd
never be wet again.. well Steve you are right. Drysuits are right up
there with sliced bread and TV remote controls. Headed to Blue Water
in Pelham to do some diving with Casey Brown and ended up meeting up
with Joel Lockridge to do some bottom hugging. First dive was only to
bout 60 feet as I wanted to get use to the drysuit. Didn't want to hit
140 on the backside till I had gotten comfortable in the suit. It took
all of 5 minutes till I felt comfortable and I was amazed at the functionality
and mobility I had. The suit fit like a glove. I was like a kid with
a new toy on Christmas day. Even drove to Casey's house in Casey's truck
while wearing it. Got a funny look from a neighbor. Anyway.......First
dive was only bout 20 min because I decided to go ahead and try diving
with an O2 cylinder under my left arm, so we cut the first dive short.
Took about a 1hr 30 min S.I. Then headed back to the bottom. This time
Joel joined us as we did an 80 ft dive for 54 min then did 3/30ft and
10/20ft decostops. A little much but the guys knew I wanted to stay
in and play with my new toy. I had to cut the day short in order to
drive home for mother's day. Casey and Joel did another couple dives
I believe. Next week we will find the bottom on the backside and play
there some. I'm hoping to do Trimix by summer's end and then head up
to Lake Jocasse w/ the rest of the bunch for some deep (and cold) diving.
I want to say a special thanks to Steve Parker for his help and Denny
Hemphill for his help. Denny was able to process my order form from
200 miles away in an extremely fast and professional manner and kept
me continuously updated on the progress of my suit as it was being built.
Thanks guys. So if you see a really big black object with a smile on
its face swimming round the bottom of Blue Water from now on.. don't
be afraid.. Its just me... I'll probably waive at ya.
