matt-sse Dear DUI,

The Sustainable Seas Expedition is a five year project of the National Geographic Society, led by Dr. Sylvia Earle, using one-person submersibles to explore the U.S. National Marine Sanctuaries. My job includes getting into the water to release and hook up the DeepWorker 2000 subs before and after each dive.

During the first leg of the project, working in the chilly waters of Monterey Canyon, I nearly froze while using a competitor's leaky "damp" suit. I could hardly get my hands on a DUI fast enough, and was thrilled to spend the remainder of the west coast mission toasty warm and perfectly dry.

On July 16, 2000, Dr. Earle achieved a first for the Expedition, taking the sub to a depth of 2,000 feet near Anacapa Island. Thanks, DUI, for helping to make our project a success!
